Itinerary
Khiva to Bukhara via desert fortresses
Day 1:
Pick-up: We can pick you up from Urgench Airport, the train station, or your hotel (Khiva or Urgench) at any time.
Recommended Start: We suggest starting at 09:00 or 10:00 am.
The Trip: The drive from Khiva to the first stops takes about 90 minutes. During the day, you will visit Kizil Kala, Akcha Lake, and Toprak Kala. You will stop at a local restaurant for lunch to enjoy traditional meal.
Overnight: Stay at the Ayaz Kala Yurt Camp and enjoy the desert sunset.
Day 2:
Pick-up: Our driver will arrive at the Yurt Camp at 08:00 or 09:00 am (An early start is highly recommended due to the long distance).
The Trip: You will visit the remaining fortress Gulsursun kala in the morning. After the tour, we will begin the direct drive across the Kyzylkum Desert toward Bukhara.
Drop-off: The trip ends with a drop-off at your hotel in Bukhara
Bukhara to Khiva via desert fortresses
Day 1:
Pick-up: We can pick you up from your hotel in Bukhara.
Recommended Start: We suggest starting at 09:00 (after breakfast).
The Trip: Most of the day will be spent driving across the Kyzylkum Desert. Upon reaching the Ellikqala region, you will visit Guldursun Kala and than you will stop at a local restaurant for lunch to enjoy traditional meal.
Overnight: Stay at the Ayaz Kala Yurt Camp and enjoy the desert sunset.
Day 2:
Pick-up: Our driver will pick you up from the Yurt Camp at 09:00 AM.
The Trip: You will visit Ayaz Kala, Akcha lake, Toprak Kala, and Kizil Kala.
Return: After exploring the fortresses, you will have a direct drive back to Khiva.
Drop-off: The trip ends with a drop-off at your hotel in Khiva or Urgench, or at the airport/train station.
